WritingPAD call for contributions to JWCP

Date posted: 11/11/2010

Writing PAD is looking for individuals or a group of co-writers, who would like to do a review of an art and design writing event, anywhere in the world, or would like to write a short report on how Writing PAD models are shaping or have shaped courses and students writings within your institutions.

They are looking for such reviews for the Journal of Writing in Creative Practice (JWCP). The review should be no longer than 2000 words maximum and can be as short as 500 words. They encourage images and illustrations at 300dpi.  The editor, Julia Lockheart, is very keen to reflect the growing number of writing related events that happen throughout the Writing PAD network. There are no deadlines for reviews as they can always add them to any of the three issues per year. If you have any students who may like to contribute, they are always looking to promote student writings.
The journal has now been guest edited by:

Professor Susan Orr and Claire Hind of York Saint John University, 2:1 & 2:2;

Neil Mullholland at Edinburgh College of Art, 2:3;

Gavin Melles at Swinburne Design, Swinburne University of Technology, 3:1 & 3:2;

The Centre for Learning and Teaching in Art and Design (CLTAD) which is a collaboration between the University of the Arts and the RCA, which Julia is currently editing, 3:3.

They are soon to have the Wales issue in 2011 guest edited by Jo Walter from Swansea Metropolitan but giving a Wriiting-PAD outlet to all across Wales. After that they hope that the Scandanavian Writing-PAD Network will guest edit one or two issues after hosting a Scandanavian Writing-PAD event. They have also had discussions about a possible Writing-PAD event and publication by their South West Centre which may be collaboratively guest edited by Jerome Fletcher, Pete Davies and Nancy Roth.
They are currently looking for sponsors for the WritingPAD network so if anyone is interested in starting a centre and contributing to the Writing-PAD network that would be much appreciated. Please contact Julia with any ideas.
