Virtual SPACE online forum information

Virtual SPACE

This online forum provides opportunities for an unlimited number of participants to engage with, and share ideas about, the theme – as well as informing and interacting with subsequent discussion at Vital SPACE, the event at the Wales Millennium Centre, in Cardiff on Friday, 8 May 2009.

Stephen Heppell, Professor of New Media Environments at the Centre for Excellence in Media Practice at Bournemouth University, launched this online discussion forum, with a video presentation on 29 April 2009. Initially this was a general discussion in response to Professor Heppell’s presentation. Stephen Heppell  reviewed the discussions after a few days and identified 5 ‘hot’ topics or words; these were the themes of 5 discussion threads at Vital SPACE on 8 May.

Virtual SPACE will remain open until 13 May; until then delegates will be able to continue their discussions and contribute feedback.  Professor Steven Heppell will formally close proceedings with his reflections on the issues raised and what these might mean for learning spaces in art, design and media higher education. Although the forum will be closed it will remain available online as a resource.
