We are pleased to announce that this year's ADM-HEA Annual Forum will be held at The Lowry, Salford Quays, Salford.

The Annual Forums hosted by the ADM-HEA are an opportunity for colleagues to consider some of the more fundamental and conceptual issues that drive teaching and learning across our subjects. They are a departure from practical workshops, staff development and consultations and rather than offer practical advice are intended to provoke ideas and debate.

This year we will be considering a range of ideas around KNOWLEDGE in the disciplines. In subjects where knowledge is contingent and context is everything, do we have authoritative bodies of knowledge in the disciplines that can be transmitted from teachers to learners? This year’s ADM-HEA Annual Forum will consider this and other questions that lie at the core of our practices.

As in previous forums we have invited a number of commentators (Chairs) to start the debates with a view from their own position. The aim is for each group to deliver a framework for a paper, covering the key issues and scope of their discussion. Each group will be allocated a ‘reporter’ who will record the discussions and work with the chair and the ADM-HEA to draft a paper. The collected papers will be published by the ADM-HEA later in the year.
