Invitation to the Creating Future-Proof Graduates Exhibition

Banqueting Suite at Birmingham Council House
11 December 2009 10:00-15:00

This is the first of the initial HEA funded National Teaching Fellowship projects from 2007 to reach the dissemination stage. The aim of the project is to create resources which will help students identify and prepare for critical incidents which, according to employers, epitomise the major problems that newly qualified graduates encounter when they start work in the ‘real world'.

The resources are designed to be transferable and used in the classroom. They have been created in a variety of media and have been used with a range of subject areas. The titles and issues they address are:

  • Too Much Information
  • Stone Soup
  • Expect the Unexpected
  • The Networking Game
  • No Offense Meant
  • Ethical Dilemma
  • Inappropriate Behaviour
  • Who, What, Where

This is a FREE event and aimed at everyone interested in resources to be used in the classroom to enhance the employability of higher education students. The resources will be available to download from the project website AFTER the exhibition but one lucky person from each institution attending will receive a free compendium!

The exhibition will be from 10 – 3pm with an opportunity to experience the resources that have been created. The programme for the day can be found on the website:

The Exhibition is being held in the fabulous Banqueting Suite at Birmingham Council House in the heart of the city, walking distance from all major train stations.
