Impact of learner experience research - using evidence to influence policy

London Knowledge Lab, 23-29 Emerald St, London WC1N 3QS
29 January 2009 10:00-16:00

The ELESIG is a growing community of researchers and practitioners involved in investigations and evaluations of learners' experiences of e-learning.

Continuing to build on successful on-line and face-to-face events, ELESIG is now organising its second 'Impact Symposium' in collaboration with colleagues currently undertaking research into selected areas of the student experience.

This ELESIG event will consider the impact of learner experience research on policy and attempt to identify examples of research that is having real impact on policy.  They ask participants to come prepared to share and discuss:

  • what impact is your learner experience research having on policy within your institution/region?
  • which of your findings could potentially have significant impact?
  • how could your findings best be communicated to policy makers?

This event is sponsored by the Higher Education Academy's e-learning Research Observatory (eLRO), who will make a significant contribution to the programme alongside other ELESIG members.

Places on this event are limited and will be allocated to ELESIG members only on a first come, first served basis.  The deadline for registrations is Friday 16 January, or earlier wehn maximum numbers are reached.  Please use the booking form (available only on Ning) to apply for a place and return immediately to Malcolm Ryan at
