Disability Research Conference 2009

Following the successful one day conferences of the previous two years, the Leeds Met Disability Research Group is planning a further conference for this year, to be held on April 22 2009 at Headingley Stadium, Leeds.
They have an excellent key note speaker: Mick Healey from the University of Gloucester

Topics to be covered include:

  • "Studying at INN through the eyes of a student with Asperger's Syndrome
  • Think differently... about autism in HE "Eggs, spaghetti and Ginger"
  • Memory (Wo)Man".  Dyslexic-friendly exam revision for all students?
  • Ability vs Ability project background (Paralympic and the curriculum)
  • Developing an inclusive curriculum: disabled students' experiences of learning at university
  • An assessment of eye tracking as an educational aid for people with profound multiple learning difficulties
  • Students with autism in higher education
  • support for students with disabilities in higher education
